Adobe Release Mixamo and Substance Plugins for Blender

Back in July, Adobe signaled their support of Blender by joining the Blender development fund as a Gold sponsor, then followed it up by releasing two addons for Blender, one for Mixamo and the other for Substance Designer.

The Mixamo Add-on for Blender

This add-on makes it easy to download Mixamo rigged characters, either from Mixamo.com or your own uploaded then auto-rigged character, then import them into Blender and automatically create a game engine friendly animation Rig. Adobe describe the Add-on as:

This Blender auto control-rig add-on works with characters that have been auto-rigged with the Mixamo service. The add-on provides a one-click solution to create an IK control rig and to bake animations in and out of the character control rig and skeleton.

This add-on can be downloaded here (direct Zip download link).

Substance 3D Add-On Link

This add-on requires an Adobe account to download, and enables you to use Substance Designer sbsar files in Blender. Adobe describe this addon as:

This add-on for Blender allows you to load a Substance 3D material directly into Blender and apply modifications by tweaking parameters.

This add-on requires a seperate download that runs outside of Blender, which can be downloaded directly from within the Add-ons section once the initial Substance plugin is installed.

You can see both Adobe Blender addons in action with a quick usage tutorial in the video below.
