The creator of the one of a kind Dust3D 3D modelling application has just released a new free & open source tool for 3D modelling – AutoRemesher. This app for Windows, Mac and Linux enables you to quickly retopologize 3D models, converting them from triangle soup to smooth edge loop friendly quads in just a click or two. AutoRemesher just shipped version 1.0 and with the release it moved from the restrictive GPLv3 open source license to the much more liberal MIT license, making the source code more flexible in it’s use.
AutoRemesher is described as:
AutoRemesher is a cross-platform automatic quad remeshing tool that converts high-polygon meshes into clean quad-based topology. It is built on top of libraries: Geogram, libigl, isotropicremesher and others.
