Boris FX have just acquired 3 decades old applications – Vegas Pro, Acid Pro and Sound Forge from German audio software company Magix. This is the 3rd time these applications have changed hands, from their creators Sound Foundry, to Sony, then Magix and finally Boris FX. Vegas Pro is a popular non linear video editing application, Acid Pro is the original loop based music software and Sound Forge is a Swiss army tool for recording and handling audio files.
Boris FX is a creator of plugins for music, video and graphics software. They have announced new tiers bundling their existing suite in with the newly acquired tools:

Boris FX announces the acquisition of Vegas Pro (formerly Sony Vegas), Sound Forge, and Acid Pro from MAGIX Software GmbH. The acquisition brings new AI technology to Boris FX, along with the notable video editing and audio products. The additions further cement Boris FX’s commitment to provide artists and teams across media & entertainment, content creation, and music & sound industries with top tools that deliver fast, powerful, and unlimited creative possibilities.
