We are taking a sneak peak at the best new features coming in Godot 4.7. Dev1 and Dev2 versions of Godot 4.7 have been released, these are the releases where new features are added to the game engine, before we hit the beta and release candidate stages where the features are locked down and focus shifts to hardening the project for launch. There are plenty of exciting new features in Godot 4.7 Dev1 and Dev2 including:
Dev1 Release Highlight New Features
- New Input: VirtualJoystick controller
- DrawableTexture Support – New drawable API for dynamic texture creation
- Path3D collider snapping support
- Remote Tree Inspector improvements
- Vulkan raytracing plumbing improvements
- Windows HDR support
Dev2 Release Highlight New Features
- Copy/Paste of entire section/categories of node properties
- Use of monospaced fonts for code names in UI
- Ability to collapse groups in the animation track editor
- Apple HDR support
