GodotHub – Awesome New Launcher for Godot

GodotHub is a free and open source, cross platform (with binaries for Windows, Mac and Linux) hub or launcher for the Godot game engine which is already feature rich and extremely polished. Using the (completely optional!) GodotHub you can download and manage Godot installs, create and manage Godot projects and even setup and manage templates, useful for creating new projects from a common boilerplate.

Key features of GodotHub:

Version Management: Easily download, install, and manage multiple versions of the Godot Engine side by side. It allows seamless switching between release, beta, and custom builds for different projects.

Centralized Project Hub: Scan, organize, and launch all your Godot projects from a single unified interface. You can assign specific engine versions to individual projects so they always open with the correct setup.

One-Click Installation: Fetch and install official Godot releases directly within the app without manual zip downloads or file extracting. It handles the executable paths automatically for a smoother setup process.

Template & Asset Library Access: Search and import community templates, plugins, and starter assets straight into your projects. This speeds up early prototyping and project initialization.

Custom Engine Support: Add custom-compiled Godot binaries or local builds alongside official versions. This feature is ideal for developers working with modified engine source code.

Cross-Platform Compatibility: Runs across major operating systems, ensuring a consistent project launcher experience whether on Windows, macOS, or Linux.

Lightweight & Fast: Built for minimal resource overhead so it opens instantly without slowing down your development workflow. It provides a clean, user-friendly interface designed for game developers.

You can see GodotHub in action in the video below. I am generally not the biggest fan of hubs or launchers, but this one gets many things right. It’s lightweight, capable and best of all – completely optional!
