The Godot Asset Store is Live

For years one of the glaring feature deficits of the Godot game engine compared to the likes of Unity and Unreal Engine has been the lack of a viable asset store. While Unity has the Asset Store and Unreal Engine has Fab, Godot developers have always had to use 3rd party unregulated stores like Itch.io and Gumroad, as well as 3rd party attempts to launch their own Godot focused asset stores. Today the Godot Foundation have announced the launch of the Godot Asset Store.

This store currently does not support selling assets (that’s immediately on the roadmap), it will be replacing the existing Asset Library and offers several features like multiple version downloads, user reviews, custom tags and more. On the creator side there are uploading and management tools as well as analytics available. If you want to check out the Godot Asset Store, you can either do so in your browser, or by using a development version of Godot 4.7, which is currently in beta.
