Fixing Godot 4.x UI Lag

Do you ever get the feeling the Godot 4.x is simply more sluggish than Godot 3.x was? Well, you’re not alone! Kenney on KenneyNL fame made the following tweet:

This is certainly something I had noticed at a subconscious level, but I hadn’t realized how profound the performance difference actually was until I compared them side by side. Thankfully there is a rather simple workaround:

So what are the downside to enabling Single Window Mode? You will lose the ability to break off windows and move them outside of the main window, so if you are using a multiple monitor setup you may be better off just living with the UI lag for now. Hopefully this issue will be fixed in a future release of the Godot game engine.
